Need another blue box? Complete our on-line form or call the City at 3-1-1, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for home delivery (allow up to 2 weeks for delivery) or pick-up a blue box at the Recycling Centre. Place your blue box at the curb anytime after 8:00 p.m. the evening prior to your collection day and no later than 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Please make sure your blue box is at the curb by 7:00 a.m. as pick-up times may vary occasionally without notice. |
Please call City Services at 3-1-1 for your solid waste collection schedule. Collection schedules are not posted on our website.- Place your blue box in a visible location on the ground as close as possible to the roadway, but not on the sidewalk, travelled roadway, on top of snow banks or in an area that would interfere with road or sidewalk maintenance crews.
- Do not bag your mixed blue box recyclables in clear plastic bags. Place items loosely in the blue box.
- Residential curbside blue box recycling containers must be either a City approved blue box or the City approved 'Big Blue' container with lid (available for a fee).
A limited quantity of Big Blues are currently available at a reduced fee ($17). Residents must complete a short survey. These containers are for residents that generate 4 blue boxes or more a week and have difficulty preventing windblown litter. The Big Blue comes with a lid. For additional details, please call 3-1-1.- Non-recyclable items will not be collected as part of the blue box collection program.
- Apartment recycling is mandatory under Provincial Regulation and/or if the apartment receives municipal waste collection services. For further details, please contact City Services at 3-1-1.
The Recycling Centre (for blue box recyclables) is located at 1825 Frobisher Street (off Falconbridge Road) in Sudbury.
- The office is open, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
- The plant is open, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- The drop-off depot is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
