Effective Friday, February 8, 2010, Greater Sudbury Transit will be making changes to existing routes to service the new South End Wal-Mart located on Long Lake Road. Greater Sudbury Transit would like to advise residents of the following changes:
Route 819 Copper / Four Corners All buses on this route depart from the Downtown Terminal Mondays to Saturdays. Buses will no longer travel on Alice-Hulda and Ester Road on the outbound portion of the route. The new route will proceed along Long Lake Road to the lights at Wal-Mart. The buses will enter the parking lot at the first entrance and will continue through to the exit at Countryside Drive, making a stop at a designated location in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The Transcab transfer point for the Long Lake area will also be moved to this location.
Route 189 Lo-Ellen / Copper / Four Corners All buses on this route depart from the Downtown Mondays to Sundays. On the inbound portion of the route, buses will proceed along Long Lake Road to the lights at Wal-Mart and enter the parking lot from the first entrance, continue through to the exit at Countryside Drive and make a stop at a designated location in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The Transcab transfer point for the Long Lake area will also be moved to this location.
For the inbound portion of Routes 819 and 189, the buses will travel from Brady Street to Minto Street to Larch Street, Young Street and Cedar Street to arrive at the Downtown Terminal.
